This event will highlight four years of research performed in the SABYDOMA project. You will be able to see a demonstrator showing the coupling of a nanoparticle production line with a cell line screening platform\, which were both developed during the SABYDOMA project. This demonstrator simulates the production of nanoparticles in a compact microfluidic set-up and their transfer to a screening module with integrated optical and electrical sensing. The module can be used to investigate the toxicological effect of the nanoparticles on living biological cells.\n \nRegister here for online attendance. SUMMARY:A stakeholder’s perspective of Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design – a bigger picture!
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nIn February 2022\, SABYDOMA organised a workshop on A Stakeholder’s Perspective of Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD)\, where different visions and definitions of SSbD from the viewpoint of different stakeholders (such as: Academia\, Industry\, EU Institutions\, Standardization and Regulatory bodies\, and NGOs) were discussed. A reminder of this original workshop can be found here. \nSABYDOMA now has the pleasure of organising a second\, follow-up\, SSbD workshop\, to explore what has happened in the meantime. This workshop will take place on 7th March 2024\, 9:00-10:30h in Vienna (Austria)\, as part of the ANTHOS 2024 summit\, and brings together leading experts in Safe-by-Design (SbD) and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) from projects funded under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives. \nThis second workshop is entitled “A stakeholder’s perspective of Safe-and-­Sustainable-by-Design – a bigger picture!”. It will highlight four years of research and dissemination on the SSbD approach with the contribution of stakeholders from academia\, EU institutions and industry who will discuss the current status and understanding of the SSbD approach. The workshop will start with a presentation of SABYDOMA’s legal paper covering the content and findings of the two legal workshops organised in January 2021 and June 2023. DESCRIPTION:A flagship event for innovation and technological development\, which will be held from September 18 to 22\, 2023\, in the historic San Gallo cloister\, at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the Sapienza University of Rome (Via Eudossiana 18). The event represents a well-established national meeting point for the wide and multidisciplinary community involved in the development of nanotechnology and its integration with other key enabling technologies (KETs)\, in all fields of application. DESCRIPTION:The EuroNanoForum is a conference held every other year in the country currently holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union. His doctoral thesis investigated on the legal standards and flexibilities of the nano-based products from comparative international law perspectives. Current projects focus on legal standards for nanotechnology lifecycle\, regulation of algorithmic personalisation and legal standards for automated decision making from data protection law perspectives. He pioneered the biosensor concept to simplify toxicity screening of marine and estuarine waters. In connection with this work\, he spent several Fellowships in The Netherlands\, Italy and Spain respectively carrying out collaborative studies. In 2001\, he moved to University of Leeds where he continued to develop this area. In 2009 he won the Royal Society Brian Mercer Award for his innovations in the biosensor and toxicity screening field. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n\n\n\nAs a joint activity with the training projects VISION and Twinalt\, SABYDOMA’s partner NILU is organising an online course on Good laboratory Practice (GLP) for in vitro toxicology\, nano- and genotoxicology. It is organized in collaboration with the H2020 projects on Nanotechnologies\, Advanced Materials\, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing (NMBP) RiskGONE\, NanoSolveIT and SABYDOMA. \nThe course will be held online on 28 – 29 November 2022. \nOn the first day topics covered include an introduction to GLP\, GLP roles and responsibilities\, quality assurance (QA) and standard operating procedure (SOP)\, and the preparation of a GLP study plan\, master schedule\, and report. DESCRIPTION:Particle mixtures and advanced materials: from production and generation to environmental risk assessment\n\n\n\nWelcome to the 5th yearly workshop of the SweNanoSafe research network which will be organised on the 25th of November and will be held online. This workshop intends to inform on the newest scientific trends in nanosafety as well as to look forward on coming challenges. \nThis year\, the theme is “Particle mixtures and advanced materials: from production and generation to environmental risk assessment”. We will focus on 4 themes where we invite keynote speakers giving overview presentations that focus on the key questions below. \n1. Production and generation: what sort of products can we expect in the future? What are “advanced materials”? \n2. Measurement: Is it currently all possible to detect these materials\, particularly in an environmental monitoring context? What are the knowledge gaps? \n3. Exposure: What sort of changes do we need to environmental exposure models to predict their fate accurately?
