OpenTox 2021 Virtual Conference
A Global Meeting for a Safer World, 20 – 24 September 2021
The OpenTox 2021 Conference activity will take place online 20 – 24 September supported by online tools for poster presentations, webinars, hackathons, and communications (OpenTox Slack). Join our OpenTox ResearchGate Project now to stay informed.
Call for Abstract:
Interested candidates can participate by submitting their abstracts; each conference topic will have a session chair and invited speakers. We will also hold a virtual poster session involving online posters and video descriptions. These will be viewable during the conference and will be accompanied by a virtual discussion with the presenter. Please provide your abstract through the following form (the deadline for talk presentations is 31 May 2021, deadline for posters is 31 July 2021).
Fee:
Registration for the conference is €100 for non-students, €50 for students (up to PhD level), and will include an OpenTox membership. The conference has free registration for current OpenTox Association members (€100 regular membership, €50 for students, good through the end of 2021). The details for access to the virtual meeting will be sent to your email upon completion.
Bursary Award:

Internship program:
OpenTox interns will be invited to a) create an OpenTox Inventory of all Open Global Resources and Software in Toxicology and Risk/Safety Assessment, b) help with the organizational work of the conference, c) actively participate in and contribute to conference events such as the hands-on hackathon and career fair. Format:
- Virtual poster session accompanied by scheduled discussions per sub-session (poster shared folder, web meeting, and Slack). Posters will be available for viewing all week and discussion via Slack.
- Each poster session topic will have a short presentation and discussion of the posters via GoToMeeting
- Predictive Toxicology and Safety Assessment Hackathon (Github, Web meeting, and Slack) will run all week where groups can work hands-on in teams on problems
- Key Topic Webinars will be held on each topic
